Annie is licensed to practice law in Hawai’i and Utah and has been practicing law for over a decade. Annie splits her time between Hawai’i and Utah. Her main office is in Salt Lake City where she lives with her partner and two teenage boys.
Annie grew up on the island of O‘ahu, attended college at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, and attended law school in Hawai‘i where she graduated cum laude.
Before law school, Annie worked in residential real estate, commercial real estate and leasing, and non-profit healthcare and education in Los Angeles for seven years. After moving back to Hawai‘i, Annie worked in environmental and urban planning, assisting developers with environmental requirements, land use and zoning issues, and community engagement. Her article, Determining the Expiration Date of an Environmental Impact Statement: When to Supplement a Stale EIS in Hawai‘i, was published in the University of Hawai‘i Law Journal in 2013.
After law school, Annie worked for a number of justices at the Hawai‘i Supreme Court and a number of judges at the United States federal court in Hawai‘i. Annie has also worked at a top law firm in Hawai‘i (nka Dentons Hawaii) practicing land use litigation and transactional law. She assisted her business clients with drafting agreements, purchasing commercial property, drafting and reviewing leases, working on Homeowner association governing documents, and other business-related matters.
After moving to Utah, Annie built a secondary specialty in family law and probate matters and had the privilege of working at one of Utah’s most respected family law firms, McConkie Hales & Jones, before leaving to expand her practice and start her own firm. Annie excels in legal research and writing, and is knowledgeable in substantive areas of business, real estate, land use, family, probate litigation, and federal law. Annie provide compassionate yet practical counsel to her clients and endeavors to be a zealous advocate for her clients’ interests.

The Paralegal
Iman Haddad brings to Annie Yi Law an impressive and extensive legal education and over five years of combined legal experience.
Iman holds a bachelors degree in law from the University of Jordan Law School in Amman, Jordan, as well as a Master’s in Law from Middle East University Law School in Amman Jordan. Originally planning to practice law in Dubai, UAE, Iman obtained a Master of Law degree (LLM) from Brigham Young University, Provo, UT, to gain advanced knowledge in the U.S. legal system. While attending BYU, she met her husband in Utah and now calls Utah home. Dubai’s loss, but Utah’s win!
Iman spent one year at Kirton & McConkie in the International Law Department as a paid intern. Thereafter, she spent more than four years supporting in-house corporate legal teams in the construction and healthcare sectors where she worked closely with general counsel on contract review, litigation support, document management, compliance tracking, and insurance/risk matters.
Iman now specializes in family law, contract law, insurance, business law, and construction litigation.

Amberly Bray is the glue that holds everything together at Annie Yi Law. Sharp, detail oriented, and organized, Amberly brings years of experience from active and busy law firms in Salt Lake City, UT.
Amberly holds a Bachelor of Science in psychology from Utah Valley University. She has worked in both administrative and paralegal roles, with a focus on complex civil litigation. In addition to litigation, Amberly also has experience in transactional and family law matters.
Amberly brings a specialized background in legal support including organizing complex discovery, preparing voluminous documents, billing, document production, filing, managing deadlines, and trial preparation.
Amberly calls Salt Lake City, Utah, her home.
The Business Specialist
Joel LaSalle has been a fixture in the restaurant community in Salt Lake City, Utah, for over thirty years, and has a notably remarkable background in the restaurant business and commercial real estate in Utah. Raised in Bountiful, Utah, and finding early success during his time in Newport Beach working in the sign business for Disney, Joel brings a unique perspective and expertise to Annie Yi Law.
Through his company, the LaSalle Group, Joel has owned popular restaurants in Salt Lake City, Utah, including Oasis Cafe, Cafe Niche, Faustina, Stanza, Current Fish & Oyster, Kyoto SLC, and also, Carvers in Sandy, UT. He currently owns and operates Salt & Olive on 3rd and 3rd in Salt Lake City.
In addition to his over thirty-year history as a restaurateur, Joel has purchased, developed, and sold multiple commercial properties in Salt Lake City and in Bountiful. Joel thus brings a wealth of knowledge in business and finance matters, leasing, and commercial real estate to Annie Yi Law.
Joel is skilled in negotiating contracts and leases, and is an expert in the purchase and sale of businesses and commercial property. In addition to having a lawyer on your side, our clients can count on the business expertise of Joel LaSalle to complement any legal challenges our clients may face.
